About our restaurant

El Drac Michelin Restaurant in the heart of El Maresme.

Under the direction of chefs Raul Balam and Murilo Rodrigues Alves, a new project was conceived in 2019, after Boutique Hotel Sant Jordi was awarded its fifth star.

Located in the heart of the Maresme coast, the owners oversaw the refurbishment that combines the spirit and details of the early years of tourism in Calella in the 1960s with contemporary décor to produce a venue of extraordinary beauty.

The restaurant’s menus are all made using the finest quality ingredients, taking full advantage of the wide variety of produce from the fields of El Maresme and its Mediterranean waters.

El Drac, inspired by the hotel owners’ daughter Núria, also benefitted from the major sentimental value of its partnership with chefs Raul Balam and Murilo Rodrigues Alves, coming only a short while after the closure of the famous Sant Pau restaurant owned by Raul Balam’s mother, the award-winning Carme Ruscalleda.

El Drac has forged its own identity, and has become an essential stop for any visitors wishing to savour the most exquisite fare that our land has to offer. And Michelin has shown its appreciation by including the restaurant in its guide for the first time.
